Overview:
Lower School teachers at The International School of Indiana work in a multicultural environment with families, teachers and staff from around the world. Teachers work with a highly collaborative team of grade level colleagues, coordinators and specialists to implement a rigorous curriculum that is engaging and student-centered.
Job Title: Lower School Spanish Teacher Full Time
Primary Purpose: Teach PYP curriculum in Spanish immersion program
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Develop and teach Units of Inquiry in a Spanish immersion classroom
-Contribute to school programs and events
-Collaborate with colleagues
-Create positive educational climate for students
-Participate in professional development
-Tutor students individually, as needed
-Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
-Communicate with parents in a positive and timely manner
Required Qualifications:
-First language speaker of Spanish
-Fluent in English
-Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Desirable Qualifications:
-Experience with the Primary Years Programme
-International outlook and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
-Strong interpersonal skills
-able to use and apply technology in the classroom
