Job Description
The Pricing Specialist will research pricing for RFQ's (bids) for various types of cargo within the geographical scope of the Pricing Department as directed.
Essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and finalizing vendor rates per scope of work
- Decide best routing and service mode(s) for specific proposals that creates a win-win solution for both the customer and the company
- Help to identify and resolve any challenges that arise with the delivery of cargo
- Negotiation of rates with vendors to achieve the best rate for customers
- Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-ups and RFQ's
- Completes all RFQ's in a timely manner and maintain deadlines
- Work with internal departments to complete job transitions and assist accordingly
Qualifications/Experience:
- 2 years of sales and or pricing experience in a customer service based business
- Transportation background
- Self starter with solid follow thru and attention to detail
- Computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, PC Miler, Pipedrive, Google Maps/Earth
- Strong internet and research skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced environment with a challenging work load
