eCommerce Marketing Manager

The Institutes Knowledge Group eCommerce Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining web-based marketing programs in alignment with our digital marketing strategy and in support of growing our eCommerce platform. This role is responsible for the overall eCommerce experience, including user experience, lead generation, testing, on-site search and return on eCommerce investments. As a shared service, this includes collaborating with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure that our eCommerce platform is a lead generator, drives organic traffic, clearly delivers our brand message(s), reflects our integrated marketing programs and delivers a high-quality user experience. Additionally, the eCommerce Manager works closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to Drupal web development and ADA compliance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversees day-to-day website operations for The Institutes core business unit, including website communications strategy, web governance, product placements, writing/editing/proofing content, and updating site assets.
  • Helps plan and implement digital merchandising strategies and promotional programs to engage audiences and drive conversions.
  • Works closely with the Director of eCommerce to design and implement lead generation approaches; continually optimize approaches and feature areas/offerings.
  • Works closely with the Web Analytics Manager to assess and improve website search engine optimization (SEO) results and implement SEO best practices, specifically through content maintenance, development, and optimizations.
  • Evaluates web traffic and site metrics to help measure and inform web update decisions and strategies with a focus on improving the user experience based on established personas; advise stakeholders on UX best practices and approaches.
  • Collaborates with IT colleagues to manage and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ensures full compliance on all website and related web properties with all laws and regulations.
  • Regularly reviews monitoring reports and conduct audits to improve content, site architecture and site functionality; this includes monitoring trends in web best practices, new online platforms and making recommendations on use of new tools.
  • Monitors current industry trends to develop guidelines and best practices in web and digital systems.
  • Works closely with the Director of eCommerce and the eCommerce Web Analytics Manager on web personalization, A/B testing and conversion rate optimization strategies and implementations.

Other Requirements/Responsibilities

  • Closely coordinates activity with marketing counterparts and other departments.
  • Serve on cross functional teams on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Competencies

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' eCommerce and digital merchandising experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ADA compliance; certification in ADA compliance preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, social media, mobile applications, and related technologies.
  • Experience building websites using a Content Management System (Drupal preferred).
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, Semantic Markup; and back-end technologies such as PHP and MySQL.
  • Proficient with Google Analytics and AdWords reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, cross-departmental environment, managing multiple projects and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing and synthesizing website and digital tool analytics.
  • Ability to understand a high-level vision/business goals and translate that vision into executable web marketing programs and associated campaigns.
