The I.T. Connection, Inc. is Hiring a Technical Support Specialist Near Crystal, IL

Summary

The I.T. Connection is a Crystal Lake-based managed service provider, a company that remotely manages customers' IT infrastructure and end-user systems. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with our clients and bring value with extensive knowledge in IT solutions, services, and support. Salary will depend on prior experience and knowledge.

Technical Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 - 2019
  • Knowledge of firewalls and firewall configuration
  • Knowledge of network, printing, and operating systems, as well as business applications
  • Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues
  • Understanding of tools, techniques, and technology used to provide support
  • Typing skills for quick, accurate entry of service request details

  • Ability to learn quickly while taking detailed notes
  • Ability to read/analyze professional articles and technical procedures

  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and documentation with proper grammar

Essential Responsibilities

  • Support for technical issues with operating systems, servers, cloud services, and Microsoft applications
  • Disaster recovery support
  • Network support (WAN/LAN connectivity, security, firewalls, routers, etc.)
  • Remote access support (VPN, Citrix, remote services)
  • Manage Remote Monitoring and Management system alerts through service tickets
  • Documentation and review of system maintenance
  • Customer support (inform of incident progress, notify of changes or agreed outages)
  • Drive to local client offices when on-site support is necessary (mileage will be reimbursed at the standard IRS mileage rate)

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent customer service and satisfaction
  • Offer quick solutions for customer requests
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and communication
  • Enter time and expenses into our vTiger ticketing system in a timely manner

Work Environment and Requirements

  • Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  • Gross Motor Skills such as climbing a ladder
  • Occasional weekend work for special projects (e.g. server migrations)
  • Active driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle
