Plastic Injection Molding company in Elgin is urgently seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Plant Maintenance Technician to join their team!

Starting pay between $23/hr - $26/hr.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

To maintain, and repair all equipment involved in an injection molding environment. Responsible for general building maintenance in which these activities exist.

Job Duties:

• Insure the upkeep of the injection molding facility.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs on all molding and support equipment.
• Keep and update accurate maintenance records on all equipment and facility.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as requested or directed.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Interaction:

• Must be able to interact and communicate with all departments and machine manufactures services technicians.

Qualifications:

• High School education or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics.

Accountabilities:

• To ensure a smooth-running, well-maintained facility.
• To minimize downtime due to machine or equipment failure.
• To provide clear and accurate records of maintenance activities performed.
• To communicate problems/issues in the manufacturing facility to the maintenance supervisor.

Job Specifications:

• Must possess a basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Must understand all support equipment associated with injection molding. (Thermolators, Spru Pickers, Grinders, etc)
• Maintain all P/M records as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
• Must be capable of general fabrication such as welding and brazing.
• Must be capable in general plumbing using PVC and/or galvanized pipe.
• Must be capable in general electrical wiring, conduit bending and fabrication.
