Position Summary

The Restaurant Manager (Outdoor Venues) will be responsible for overseeing the service in the outdoor Food & Beverage Outlets.

The candidate will act as a floor manager while also supporting the Food & Beverage team with training, motivating, coaching the staff, monitoring expenses and controlling labor costs.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, approachable and efficient while ensuring that the needs of hotel guests / visitors and employees are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure service standards in outdoor venues are met and exceeded
  • Partner with BoH / Culinary team to provide excellent guest service
  • Support service and support staff, managing the floor and guest complaints and needs during peak periods
  • Lead daily pre-shift meetings daily
  • Develop, mentor, train, and discipline employees
  • Prepare oncoming shift by communicating effectively with all staff members
  • Lead all outdoor venues and support staff to effectively recruit new and support existing team members
  • Manage encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Create and maintain team member schedules, including time-off
  • Monitor outdoor venues for compliance with hotel safety standards and regulations, encouraging safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Ensure work areas are properly stocked, clean, and tidy; maintain cleanliness, and a nice presentation of all menus and tables
  • Oversee the proper settlement of checks and comps
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Opera or Micros preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision while meeting all deadlines
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Displays orientation to profitability and aligns work with strategic goals
  • Develops and implements cost-saving measures, conserves organizational resources and works within approved budget
  • Implements and maintains all policies and procedures
  • Exercises sound and accurate judgment with regards to decision-making in a timely matter
  • Prioritizes and plans work effectively and efficiently
  • Observes and implements all safety and security procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines with frequent change delays and unexpected events

Education and Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a restaurant setting
  • Previous supervisory responsibility required
  • Previous hospitality industry experience preferred

Able to verbally communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Knowledge of a second language a plus.

Reasoning Ability and Computer Skills

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
