Position Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and dependable individual to join our team as a Security Guard at The Higher Company cannabis dispensary. The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, staff, and assets. This position requires strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to upholding regulatory compliance and safety protocols.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or other security breaches.
• Conduct regular security checks of all areas, including the sales floor, storage areas, and parking lot.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any security threats or suspicious activities.
• Respond promptly to any security incidents or emergencies, including disturbances, medical emergencies, or criminal activity.
• Provide a visible security presence to deter potential criminal activity and promote a sense of safety and reassurance among customers and staff.
• Escort employees to their vehicles upon request, especially during evening hours .
• Enforce age verification procedures to prevent sales to minors and ensure all customers meet legal age requirements.

About You

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in Cannabis in New York.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to detect and respond to potential security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, staff, and law enforcement personnel.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make quick, effective decisions.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and security protocols related to the cannabis industry preferred.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
