The Construction Logistics Coordinator will support the project team in coordinating shipping activities for construction projects. Will be responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipping activities, overseeing pick-up and drop-off schedules, and effectively managing shipping issues to ensure smooth operations and support to the project team in the execution and coordination under the supervision of the operations and procurement team.

Job Responsibilities

    Effectively manages all project logistics functions required for the successful execution of construction activities under the supervision of, and subject to, final approval by the Project Manager/Procurement Manager.
  • Coordinate trucking, rail, air, and ocean freight activities including scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Communicates with shipping partners to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods
  • Manage and resolve shipping issues and challenges that may arise during transportation
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking and delivery information
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize logistics processes and improve efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies
  • Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the logistics function
  • Review logistics invoices for accuracy
  • Assists Project Manager by providing required information and updates on timely basis and keeping supervisor apprised as to progress of the work.
  • Ensures the appropriate paperwork for logistics activities remains on schedule and in compliance with Haskell contract requirements. Reviews documents to ensure they are of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness, adhering to team and client's standards.
  • Completes analysis and/or calculations as required.
  • Assists in project team in coordination of all client correspondence and proper notice is provided to the other entities when information is due to the project team.
  • Maintains orderly work area, prepares clear well-written memos/correspondence.
  • Checks shop drawings and submittals data for conformance with contract documents upon subject to Project Manager's final approval
  • Assists the Project Manager and Project Team with duties as assigned.
  • Assists procurement with duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or related field
  • Strong understanding of transportation operations and logistics management
  • Familiarity with best practices in supply chain management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards domestically and internationally

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
