The Grand Hotel Spindletop & Event Center is on the lookout for two exceptional individuals to join our team! If you're seeking a full-time position in a laid-back atmosphere with flexible scheduling and rotated weekends off, you're in the right place.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible,.

2. Assists in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.

3. Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, and cash-handling policies and procedures

4. Understand room status and room status tracking.

5. Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.

6. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.

7. Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms.

8. Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures.

9. Knows how to use front office equipment.

10. Processes guest check-outs

11. Posts and files all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts.

12. Follows procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes.

13. Uses proper telephone etiquette.

14. Uses proper mail, package, and message handling procedures.

15. Coordinates guestroom maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.

16. Report any unusual occurrences or request to the manager or assistant manager

17. Knows all safety and emergency procedures. Is aware of accident prevention policies.

18. Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.

19. Understand that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a front desk or customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of hotel management systems and phone systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Fluent in multiple languages is a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

As a Hotel Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests. Your friendly demeanor, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $10.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
