Job Summary
Performs heavy manual labor that involves the movement of heavy materials. Responsible for lifting and carrying heavy containers. Performs heavy cleaning duties including but not limited to washing walls and appliances, and sweeping and mopping and waxing floors. Assists in the assembly of equipment that may be delivered to schools and assists in the moving of scrap equipment to a centrally located holding area.
Essential Functions

• Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors.
• Washes walls and appliances; may perform other cleaning tasks as assigned.
• May assist in the repairing of broken cafeteria lunch room tables.
• Assists in the assembly of step in refrigeration units, ovens, and other essential kitchen equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of full time, paid food services experience which has involved the repair of lunch room tables.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of:

• repairing/replacing table tops, benches, wheels and hydraulic equipment .
• assembling kitchen equipment such as step in refrigeration, ovens, and shelving.

• Ability to :
  • lift and carry heavy containers and equipment.
  • learn to use and care for equipment used in food services.
  • assemble kitchen equipment such as step in refrigeration, ovens, and shelving.
  • maintain personal cleanliness.
  • understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • drive a motor vehicle.

Certificates/Licenses

• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license to operate a motor vehicle prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
