Currently seeking a Protein Scientist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in South San Francisco, CA. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

• Shift: Monday-Friday 1st shift.
• Pay: $44.47-$52.53/hr depending on experience.
• This is a temporary assignment that is slated for 1 year with possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
• Position is responsible for protein purification using a variety of chromatographic techniques (affinity, size exclusion, ion exchange) for structural and biochemical studies. Including, screening and optimizing expression and purification of challenging membrane proteins using detergent lysis.
• Position is also responsible for using various expression platforms such as E.coli, insect cells (BEVS), and mammalian expression platforms for small and medium scale protein production. Including, performing SDS-PAGE, western blot, protein characterization assays by different biophysical and biochemical methods.

Qualifications:

• Master s degree with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience.
• Experience within protein purification and protein expression.
