The Forum Group is Hiring an AV Technical Support Specialist Near New York, NY

Position Overview:
The AV Technical Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering technical hardware and software assistance for the Firm’s Conference facilities. This position entails providing AV Technical Support to users, ensuring seamless operation of audiovisual and videoconference equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, test, maintain, operate, and dismantle all audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) equipment, including projection systems, computers, microphones, cameras, and control systems.
  • Offer basic support for in-room PCs, laptops, email, wireless internet access, and PowerPoint setup; liaise with Service Desk for advanced assistance if needed.
  • Manage all aspects of videoconferences, from setup to troubleshooting, ensuring smooth communication.
  • Educate end users on presentation technology and troubleshoot AV-related issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular testing and preventive maintenance checks on AV and VTC equipment, along with other technical systems in Conference Centers.
  • Maintain inventory of spare AV and VTC equipment and parts, performing asset management.
  • Respond to Service Desk calls, resolving escalated issues and coordinating with vendors for complex problems.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and trends, maintaining awareness of advancements in assigned areas.
  • Assist with asset moves, changes, exchanges, and repairs of AV and VTC equipment.
  • Collaborate on special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with AV and presentation technologies in a professional environment.
  • Customer service experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting AV and videoconferencing technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and web conferencing applications.
  • Knowledge of Tandberg/Cisco, Crestron systems preferred.
  • Physical ability to handle equipment and occasional travel requirements.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a law firm or service industry.
  • Industry-related training or technical certifications.
  • CTS Certification by AVIXA is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and manage competing priorities.
  • Upholds confidentiality and exercises discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per hour
