  • Provide grades and narrative assessments for every class taught within one week of block end.
  • Maintain the vertical development of the science and math curriculum throughout 9th through 12th grade, with open communication with middle school faculty.
  • Provide general supervision of students, both during class and outside of class time.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Report weekly to student support and work in conjunction with student support to support student academic needs.
  • Attend weekly all-school faculty meetings on Thursdays after school.
  • Attend weekly high school faculty meetings.
  • Attend parent meetings when requested. These may be scheduled outside of school hours.
  • Assist with afternoon and evening programs when needed.
  • Participate in the high school orientation service-learning trip.
  • Chaperon class trips.
  • Chaperon and or coordinate at least one high school social event.
  • Participate in parent education evenings.
  • Participate in all school events.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring.
  • Maintain workspace and classroom to provide a healthy learning environment for students.
  • Serve on at least one committee after the first year of teaching is completed.
  • Attend in-service days for professional development and essential safety and medical trainings.

Working Hours: The work schedule requires the employee to be at the school each day for the time necessary to accomplish instruction and responsibilities assigned thoroughly. At a minimum, full-time high school faculty are expected to be available to the school Monday through Friday during the school day beginning from 8:00-4:00 and to assist with dismissal monitoring, after-school student support, and attending after-school meetings.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required; advanced degree preferred, particularly Waldorf Teacher Training.
