THE COVE OF LAKE GENEVA is Hiring an Events Coordinator Near Geneva, WI

Beverage & Event Manager

The Cove of Lake Geneva is seeking an energetic, talented candidate to join our team as the Beverage & Event Manager. This position plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the food & beverage and limited-service events on property. The candidate will have a background in food and beverage and proven ability to manage team members.

  • Coordinates with Group Sales & Marketing all F&B requirements for the properties limited service events.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, orients and sets clear expectations for new employees for department including bartenders, pool staff, baristas and banquet set up staff.
  • Sets schedules and job duties while maintaining employee hours for proper staffing.
  • Evaluates and oversees job performance of employees.
  • Orders supplies and maintains pars for stock and inventory control controlling beverage cost.
  • Understands and follows all policy and procedures dictated by the administration and suggests and initiates necessary changes and improvements.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures to insure employee safety.
  • Responsible for the compliance of all state liquor laws for department.
  • Oversees all in-house events ensuring all is set up properly, executed property and returned back to company standards.
  • Works with clients to detail their event needs and ensures appropriate staffing for events
  • Oversee operations of outdoor pool bar, outdoor pool, coffee bar and in-house events.
  • Off season (October-May) responsibilities will vary and include more hotel operations oversight and second shift manager on duty responsibilities.
  • Work with all departments to ensure communication is accurate especially in regard to any event needs.
  • Maintain standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas to the hotel's cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and second shift hours.
  • Fill in for bartending shifts as needed or to expedite service to guests.
  • Implement service to tables at outdoor pool and other ideas to enhance guest service
  • Create beverage menu and any specials to encourage the use of any backstock items
  • Assist with marketing materials through marketing team on property

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • WI bartending license
  • 2-5 years beverage management, preferably in the hospitality business
  • 2-3 years of event management
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks
  • Great leadership skills and abilities
  • Ability to motivate staff, negotiate with vendors and resolve any guest issues.
  • Ability to create reports for management and ownership
  • Can manage time and establish priorities

Salary for this position is commensurate with experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,500.00 per year

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
