Responsibilities

- Make Readies / Turning Units for new move ins.
- Communicating with Service Manager / Building leads to determine their painting requirements and discussing top priorities.
- Covering trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
- Preparing surfaces to be painted.
- Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
- Applying paint, stain, and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Maintaining an inventory of supplies.
- Estimating time and material costs on painting projects.
- Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
- Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.
- Removing and reinstalling fixtures as necessary.
- Performing routine maintenance around the building and proactively fixing potential safety hazards.
- Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladder.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and good manual dexterity.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions including rain, heat, and snow.
- Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background check prior to starting position.
- Must have a current driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must wear company issued uniform.
- Must be willing to be on call for emergencies.
- Overtime required for pressing projects and snow removal.
- A minimum of four years of full-time work-related experience required in painting, drywall repairs, and general maintenance experience.
- Must be able to perform interior/exterior painting, drywall repairs, light general maintenance repairs and performing work orders.
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to the Service Manager.
