What We Want From You:

  • A high school diploma and be at least 18 years of age
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills, problem-solving
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with children, preferably in related field, within the past 5 years.
  • Ability to run independently and repeatedly, stand, sit, stoop, crawl, kneel, reach, push and lift a child weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel via personal automobile.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • Have access to a computer or smart phone that allows you to read and respond to e-mail as well as complete online billing and timekeeping daily.
  • Pass criminal background check.
  • Provide proof of current driver’s license and valid auto insurance.
  • Proficient in the use of modern office technology, equipment, and procedures including Microsoft Office, Adobe, basic email, internet, and be able to learn and adapt to new systems and software
  • Must clear a current background check through the DOJ (Applicant out-of-pocket expense)
  • TB Test (within the last 4 years)

What You Will Do:

As a Behavior Technician at Destined For Dignity ABA, you will:

  • Provide direct care through collaboration with children and/or adult clients/caregivers in a home setting.
  • Work directly and collaboratively with the client/client’s caregiver and other allied specialists to implement positive interventions.
  • Be responsible for preventing and intervening with clients’ challenging behaviors.
  • Learn specialized behavior approaches and implement behavioral strategies under the guidance and supervision of a BCBA.
  • attend any required trainings and staff meetings as well as complete all assigned readings.
  • support the client using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • maintain accurate records through daily documentation of client progress and adherence to prescribed behavior plan.
  • travel to and from the client’s home/community setting as needed.

About Our Client : Destined For Dignity ABA (D4D ABA)

Destined For Dignity ABA (D4D ABA) is a provider of applied behavior analysis therapeutic services to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Northern California. Our professional staff deliver therapeutic services in homes and within the community. We strongly believe in encouraging our providers to work together in creating customized solutions and achieving client goals.

The mission of this program is to deliver evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children and adults with developmental disabilities to promote and empower individuals with developmental disabilities to maximize their potential by minimizing deficits in communication, socialization, and adaptive living skills. Our program focuses on providing children with developmental disabilities and their caregivers/guardians with direct access to ABA therapy services in order to target socially significant behaviors that serve as a health and safety concern to self or others, impeded on independence, or decreases a client’s chances of accessing least restrictive supports, services and environments.

Our Behavior Technicians provide direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Environment & Physical Qualifications:

Assigned work environments vary from client to client. The work environment is usually comprised of the home/community environments of multiple client’s and/or their caregivers while under the supervision of a BCBA. Employees commonly travel between multiple clients, daily. Due to varied work environments and clients varying in age, an employee may encounter noise levels that are moderate to loud. In addition, the job functions could include the following physical demands: significant lifting of at least 50 lbs., carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear; move quickly on your feet; able to lift up to 50 pounds; use hands, fingers, feet and arms to handle, reach and feel; perform all other office related tasks. Complete a ready to work Medical Exam.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee could be exposed to hazardous waste/materials which could include but are not limited to bio hazards (body fluids), cleaning, art, and office supplies; outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may be very loud. Prop 65-D4D ABA complies with prop 65 posting requirements, but does not knowingly distribute, sell or use chemicals mention on the PROP 65 danger lists.

Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

Complete Background/fingerprint check upon receiving contingent employment offer; pass field training evaluation; complete monthly safety quiz provided in the newsletter and other trainings as assigned.
