Job Summary:
The Jacquelyn & The Cellar, a dinner party vibe happens seven days a week. We are no ordinary club, and we are seeking no ordinary server. Here, you assume the role of a server (25 hours a week). You prepare all the drinks for your guests, to see, experience, and enjoy. You will recognize their faces and know their names, welcoming them with the level of excitement and familiarity you would greet your oldest friends. You take joy and pride in the details and special touches, some may not even notice, but members will feel in their experience of unsurpassed service, as you anticipate your guest’s needs! You will dress and behave as though the building were your own. Everything is seamless, timeless, and classic, just like you. No two dinner parties are the same. Bartenders and servers alike must be flexible with multiple shifts throughout the week (including evenings, weekends, and holidays). Be prepared to assess and perform additional tasks related to your role in any space as needed.
Overview:
The Jacquelyn/The Cellar are seeking a skilled bartender and servers to join our team and provide excellent customer service while cultivating a meaningful relationship while crafting and serving beverages and food. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about different drink recipes, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet our guest, take orders, and serve beverages with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Check identification to ensure legal drinking age and enforce responsible alcohol service.
- Handle cash transactions, operate the POS system, and manage inventory effectively.
- Engage with customers, remember who they are and drink orders. Create a friendly atmosphere, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate beverage orders.
- Upsell additional beverages and offer specials to increase sales and enhance customer experience.
- Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of various drink recipes, mixing techniques, and garnishes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (where applicable), according California ABC, (alcohol beverage control).
-Be able to lift 50 pounds.
-Able to move throughout close spaces with others.
-At least 18 years of age
-Stamina to work up to 25 hours per week, depending on where coverage is needed.
-Basic computer and math skills.
-Work with a sense of urgency.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal instructions.
-Can creatively solve problems and effectively implement solutions.
-Good time management skills: can manage and complete priority workflows and be
detail-oriented.
-Ability to learn and perform in a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
-Able to deal with guests professionally while always maintaining a composed demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training as a bartender for a minimal two (2) years.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling.
