The Caterist is Hiring a Line Cook Near Evanston, IL

We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Morning Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

As a Morning Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to our recipes and standards.

This job occurs at our commissary kitchen at 3517 N. Spaulding Ave in Avondale. This is a part-time position from 5 am -1 pm with 2 days a week minimum.

Reports to : Executive Chef

Responsibilities for Morning Line Cook :

  • Assist the head chef by chopping vegetables and washing, preparing, and cooking food items
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use
  • Always maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
  • Prepare salads, bread, salad dressings, and sauces
  • Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use
  • Study the menu and prepare ingredients ahead of schedule
  • Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen

Qualifications for Line Cook :

  • Experience working as a line cook in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety, and hygiene
  • Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to stand and move around for long periods
