Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Manager of Administrative Technology Operations, the incumbent will provide user consultation and support, as well as implement and maintain hardware, software, and server operations, create documentation, provide general server support, review existing systems, suggest improvements, and reproduce documentation and/or reports and train users in upcoming and existing IT applications and systems including but not limited to CFS, Human Resources, Facilities Maintenance system, Public Safety systems, University Advancement system, Alumni Calling Center system and workstation support. The incumbent will also facilitate communications with the functional users in identifying issues and leading the resolution of problems; is responsible for tracking and documenting problems and ensuring that problems are resolved; will analyze the business processes and workflows with the objective of finding out how they can be improved or automated in order to become more efficient and productive; provide technical and project leadership for the implementation and maintenance of administrative and financial systems as well as any other projects that may be required; ensure databases and reports are readily accessible to the user community. Ensure training and documentation are appropriate; ensure that all university security policies and procedures are followed; comply with all internal department security related policies; maintain security for systems being supported; and train users on the use of upcoming and existing information technology systems and applications. |
Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Communication or a related field and two years of computer user consultation with emphasis in a multi-platform computing environment. The incumbent must have knowledge of administration and financial business practices, policies, and procedures; and of advanced principles and theories of the specialty area demonstrated by understanding and applying them. The incumbent must be proficient in Power Automate, web content design, Adobe Create Suite, and workflow management; creating high-quality documentation and demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and communication skills in working with users and technical resources; utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as both the Windows and MacOS operating systems; and utilizing both conventional and non-conventional technologies. The incumbent must possess exceptional customer service skills and can effectively convey technical information to functional users as well as have competence in problem identification and resolution skills. The incumbent must have the ability to adapt to emerging technological developments; integrate work-related knowledge to solve problems; and to assess current and planned systems and providing recommendations for upgrades and modifications. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Proficient in systems including but not limited to CFS, the Financial Data Warehouse, Human Resources, Facilities Maintenance system, Public Safety systems, University Advancement system, and Alumni system. Experience offering help desk support and end-user hardware and software support and maintenance; imaging, maintaining, and upgrading computers; in a higher education university; and in Service Now ITIL. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure deployment. Knowledge of data communication network architecture, configuration, protocols, and interfaces and of internal operating system technology, computer operations, hardware, network communications, server support with active directory, and Office 365. |
