The Bean Restaurant Group is Hiring a General Manager Near South Hadley, MA

Bean Restaurant Group is opening a new modern American eatery in the heart of downtown Springfield. We're looking for a General Manager who is passionate about hospitality, leadership, and great food done right. Our 164 seat restaurant will feature small plates, hand-crafted pasta, and seasonally inspired entrees along with a creative and playful beverage program. This is a unique opportunity to join Bean Restaurant Group and help establish our new restaurant as a flagship in the Springfield community.

Salary is competitive based on experience and will include quarterly bonus program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As our General Manager you'll be the face of our restaurant in the local community and with guests. You'll oversee the daily restaurant operations and lead our front of the house towards excellence by creating a genuine and inviting environment for our team members and patrons. With strong attention to detail, you'll oversee the planning, training, and execution necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation. Our General Manager is integral in connecting our front-of-the-house team with our Executive Chef and the back of the house to ensure operational success and to execute upon Bean Restaurant Group standards.

The general manager is responsible and accountable for the following duties (not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary):

  • Ownership of financial statements including P&L, ensure labor, purchasing, and controllables are within company guidelines to maximize profits.
  • Oversee hiring and the performance, development, and retention of employees through engagement, training, feedback, and coaching.
  • Manage labor and staff schedules in accordance with business volume to operate efficiently
  • Embody Bean Restaurant Group core values, motivate and educate your staff to embody true hospitality, administer legendary service to maintain and attract customers.
  • Ensure the highest quality product and service standards are maintained with guests
  • Execute all administrative tasks and closing duties, maintain compliance with payroll and human resources

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: Scheduling, company policies and procedures, personnel management, basic recordkeeping, point-of-sale computers and software
  • Three years restaurant management experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend shifts. Expectation is 50-55 hours per week.
