The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a full-time Manager of Grants and Research to join our Community Planning and Allocations team. The Manager of Grants and Research will integrate data into compelling proposals and informative reports. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, a proven track record in grant development, grant writing and/or grant administration and will be aligned with our mission. This position is hybrid or remote.
The Associated is a community building organization that collaborates with and funds a network of nonprofit organizations in Baltimore, Israel and internationally. Our grant writing team raises millions of dollars each year to support a constellation of human services and Jewish life initiatives to benefit our community.
The Manager of Grants and Research will be responsible for writing a wide array of funding proposals integrating data and metrics to strengthen our ability to sustain and grow our grant revenue. The Manager will prepare reports and presentations for a variety of funders to share the impact of funding investments. The Manager will also assist in designing and managing research efforts including analysis and usage of data to improve programs and services and to strengthen funding proposals. As The Associated works to deepen our data culture, the Manager will play a role in these initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Craft funding proposals and Letters of Interest that integrate data and metrics into compelling funder materials.
  • Develop written reports and materials to support recurring grants and further grant development.
  • Complete post-award requirements including documentation, acknowledgement, and coordination with relevant departments.
  • Develop new research initiatives that help inform The Associated’s funding and planning decisions.
  • Analyze existing communal data to glean insights about strategies, impact, and possible gaps in services.
  • Develop methods to effectively integrate data into programs and services to set goals and evaluate impact.
  • Research new grant prospects.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills; experience creating compelling communications for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience with writing both public and private grants is a plus.
  • Ability to synthesize data and information from multiple sources to provide insights and learning.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a track record of effective project management and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to present data and research findings in an accessible format for people with varying levels of research experience.
  • Experience developing research plans and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Experience and familiarity with budgets and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team setting.
  • Prior knowledge of the Jewish communal landscape is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three to five years work-related experience.

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range is $72,000-$77,000 and is commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.
