The Arc of Chester County is Hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant Near West Chester, PA

Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant (Part-Time)

Summary:
This position provides direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR/L to children/families on their assigned caseload. They function as a member of the child’s multidisciplinary team by collaborating with families/caregivers, supports coordinators, and other professionals to develop and implement the IEP.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy services in collaboration with OTR/L including; ongoing assessment, setting individualized goals, objectives and treatment planning for children in accordance with IEP.
  • Collaborate with OTR/L supervisor and IEP team members regarding child goals outcomes and intervention plan. Function as an active member of IEP team and communicate effectively with others on the team to ensure high quality of services. Maintain confidentiality per agency polices. Coordinate on-going IEP needs when acting as primary implementer of the child’s plan.
  • Participate in evaluation for client equipment and /or adaptive devices needs, and assist in the securing of equipment through appropriate channels/sources.
  • Prepare for and participate in IEP, family, team or staff meetings in collaboration with OTR/L and supervisor.
  • Maintain, complete, and submit in accordance with timelines/deadlines required paperwork, that includes child-related reports, parent session notes, itinerant service billing sheets, as required by the agency, and funding agents.
  • Communicate with families of classroom-based children per agency policy and procedures.
  • Perform structured assessment as assigned by OTR/L for evaluation procedures established under a child’s IEP.
  • Communicate ideas, concerns, and needs to designated supervisor or other administrative team members.
  • Participate in all required trainings per policies and procedures for the agency and funding agents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Associates degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Knowledge and training in the field of Pediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Knowledge or experience in working with families
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
  • NBCOT Certification
  • Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy License or eligibility for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania (program must have accreditation from AOTA)
  • Consent and completion of all required background checks
  • Physician's certificate of good health
  • Current and valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registrations with acceptable driving
