Description

The Behavioral Health Associate will work collaboratively and under the direction of a licensed behavioral health clinician, along with persons served and their interdisciplinary teams to support the data collection, development, and implementation of behavioral support plans. The Behavioral Health Associate will focus on providing training on behavioral supports, including Mandt.

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) requires all its employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Therefore, by applying for a position with The Arc, you understand that you will be required to verify that you have at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or one complete dose of the singe-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine by your first day of employment. Employees are also required to wear face masks when visiting and/or working in all of The Arcs offices or programs.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must meet the qualifications of a Direct Support Professional
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Applied Behavioral Analysis
  • One or more years of professional experience providing behavioral supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and knowledge of outcome systems required

Qualifications


Essential Functions

  • Behavioral Supports
    • Model techniques and coach Direct Support Professionals and program teams in behavioral plans/strategies written by a licensed professional.
    • Develop positive working relationships with persons served, their teams, and Direct Support Professionals.
    • Collect behavioral data as instructed by assigned Clinician(s); This may include spending time at a program site or a persons home, virtual observation, or working with Direct Support Professionals on data gathering.
    • Maintain clinical notes and other documentation required for each participants electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Provide feedback on observations to Clinicians.
  • Program Supports
    • On a rotating basis, facilitate MANDT and other behavioral health trainings.
    • Participate as an active member of the Behavioral Health team, including supervision sessions, sharing observations with team members, and attending staff meetings and trainings.

Other Functions

  • Participate in outreach efforts focused on Behavioral Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time. Typical work varies, but generally is 40 hours a week, with at least two weekend shifts per month. Frequent afternoon/evening hours will be required based on the needs of the people in services.
