Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Lead to join our team. The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and efficiency are maintained. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Kitchen Operations Management:

- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and plating.

- Ensure adherence to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.

- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and place orders as needed.

- Monitor kitchen equipment for functionality and coordinate repairs or maintenance when necessary.

- Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

2. Staff Supervision and Training:

- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

- Schedule kitchen shifts and assign duties to ensure adequate coverage and smooth workflow.

- Conduct training sessions to educate kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques, safety procedures, and recipe execution.

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

4. Quality Assurance:

- Conduct regular quality checks on food items to maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and freshness.

- Monitor food waste and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

- Address customer feedback and complaints regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.

6. Communication and Collaboration:

- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff, management, and vendors to coordinate food service operations.

- Participate in regular meetings and discussions to provide input on menu planning, operational improvements, and customer feedback.

- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless coordination and integration of services.

7. Compliance and Regulation:

- Ensure compliance with local health codes, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations.

- Maintain accurate records of food safety inspections, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.

- Address any violations or deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Kitchen Lead, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
