The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is Hiring a Grant Compliance Specialist Near Washington, DC

Overview:

The Grant Compliance Specialist serves as an in-house point of contact for compliance and financial monitoring, with a special focus on record retention and interdepartmental system building. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring programs adhere to both external and internal compliance requirements, provides on-demand assistance with grant administration issues, and works closely with legal and financial teams to monitor the organizations reporting and registration requirements.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain a centralized grant and budget management system to ensure compliance with all applicable organizational policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and donor rules and regulations, including for sub-awardees. Monitor and maintain grant proposal and reporting calendars and liaise with relevant staff to develop, review, and submit high-quality grant submissions, on time and in line with grantor requirements. Assist with the coordination of responses for federal and state registrations and reports, including but not limited to charitable registrations and lobbying reports in partnership with the Legal Department and external contractors. Assist in developing and monitoring program administrative procedures to align with funding agency requirements, including reporting violations to team leads, implementing corrective action plans, and providing ongoing compliance training to staff. Complete grants compliance checklists and launch materials for awarded grants as needed to ensure that grant staff have the necessary resources to comply with the grantor terms applicable to their grant-related activities. Assist with sub-recipient reviews, including performing due diligence on potential sub-recipients, tracking sub-award agreements, and monitoring sub-recipient performance for compliance in coordination with program staff and legal teams. Provide project support for the negotiation of public sector contracts awards to complete agreements and sub-awards in coordination with program leadership and ACOGs Legal Department.

Monitor grantor requirements to confirm and build program familiarity and adherence to key policies and procedures. Assist with the development of corrective action plans and staff trainings, as needed. Respond to grantor pre-award compliance inquiries and ensure that compliance-related costs are included in proposal budgets in coordination with program staff. Maintain guidelines, procedures, standards, work processes, metrics, and other methodologies to support compliance and grants management, ACOG leaders, and the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required; Bachelors degree is preferred. 2-4 years of relevant work experience, including experience in administrative or program management of grants and government contracts. US governmentfederal, state, local-grant and contract experience preferred. Experience with research and monitoring of regulations specific to multiple types of charitable structures, including 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3). Understanding of indirect rate structures and financial best practices related to grant budgeting. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Meticulous and driven by process improvement and delivery of a quality work product. Ability to work independently and effectively. Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills and ability to build strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders. Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment. Highly organized, flexible and possess a strong attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Perform other duties as assigned.
