Team (Project) Introduction 
The Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity manages and enhances the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) which resides on one Oracle M8 Supercluster database and thirteen application servers. Our team provides the technical services required to sustain EDW applications to include Project Management, Data Warehouse Management, Advanced Analytics, Tableau Server Administration/Tableau Desktop Administration, Technical Collaboration Support, Lessons Learned, Executive Orders and Special Projects, Architectural Enhancement, and Cloud Migration. We also provide management, enhancement, integration, implementation, maintenance, modernization, and infrastructure support for EDW applications as well as enhancement and maintenance of business intelligence capabilities and predictive analytics.
 
9th Way Insignia is looking for a 508 Compliance Expert to join this team. This position is contingent upon award from the government. 
 
Professional Level Information: 
As an Engineer 1, your duties may include assisting in the design, development, and testing project components, identifying problems and discovering solutions, working on ongoing projects based on specifications or drawings, and collaborating with teams of other engineers. Typically performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer, 1 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges. 

 
 
Functional Job (LCAT) Information: 

A 508 Compliance Expert must have a thorough understanding of Section 508 of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and apply this knowledge to create strategies for bringing the maximum functionality to ADA users. 508 compliance experience must be for both IT hardware and software. A 508-compliance expert must have experience in redesigning and/or developing solutions to ensure IT hardware and software compliance if an accessibility problem is detected. 

Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate all existing and new reports within the EDW-AR environments to ensure they are Section 508 Compliant. 

• Ensure Ad Hoc and Recurring reports are Section 508 Compliant. 

• Ensure all end-user reports, including existing reports, are within EDW-AR environments (e.g. PowerBI, OBIEE, Tableau) are Section 508 Compliant upon delivery. 

• Ensure that ICT is compatible with such software and devices so that ICT can be accessible to and usable by individuals using assistive technology, including but not limited to screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech recognition software. 

• Identify non-compliance issues and develop remediation plans. 

• Prepare reports on compliance status for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. 

• Develop policies and guidelines to support compliance with Section 508. 

• Coordinate with external vendors to ensure third-party products and services are compliant. 

• Facilitate user testing with individuals with disabilities. 

• Identify potential risks associated with non-compliance and assist in developing mitigation strategiess 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical Discipline, an additional 8 years of experience considered in lieu of degree 

• 5 years of experience performing similar work

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. 

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. 

 
Salary Range: 
The salary range for this position is $75,995 - $78,000
