Bayne is Hiring a Recovery Grant Specialist Near Washington, DC

Qualifications:

  • Specialists shall have two or more years of professional experience managing federal or local grants and supporting operational and strategic planning.
  • Specialists shall be proficient in using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Specialists shall have the skills needed to track and analyze large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
  • Specialists shall have two years or more experience with using online workflow and tracking systems, such as Smartsheet and grant management systems for reviewing applications, tracking spending, reporting, and monitoring grants.
  • Specialists shall have two year’s professional experience managing federal grants. They shall have two (2) or more years of experience working with laws that govern public finance processes and federal grants (e.g., Uniform Grants Guidance, EDGAR). Qualifying work shall include, but is not limited to, designing grant programs, building grant applications, reviewing subgrantee applications, managing subgrantee data, and conducting grant monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Specialists shall have two years of professional experience in operational and strategic planning of federal grant programs and strong verbal and written communication skills that are customer-focused and can clearly explain complex government requirements and processes. They shall also have strong attention to detail and a desire to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.
  • Specialists shall have a bachelor's degree or master’s degree in education, finance, public policy, communications, or a related field.

Requirements:

  • The specialists shall support federal grants administration, policy research, writing, and consultation on grants management, including program design, implementation, federal reporting, and operational and strategic planning.
  • Specialists shall provide and lead project management plans for improvement on the administration and execution of the agency's grant programs.
  • Specialists shall provide grant application specifications and content to support grant application building in the Enterprise Grant Management System (EGMS).
  • Specialists shall review subgrantee applications for approval in the Enterprise Grant Management System (EGMS).
  • Specialists shall manage subgrantee fiscal and programmatic data.
  • Specialists shall provide recommendations for the overall improvement of grant management and data organization and tracking.
  • Specialists shall review reimbursement requests for alignment and compliance with agency and federal regulations.
  • Specialists shall participate in the fiscal and programmatic monitoring of subgrantees.
  • Specialists shall provide fiscal and programmatic technical assistance to subgrantees.
  • Specialists shall prepare program-related communications for agency staff and external stakeholders.
  • Specialists shall report weekly to their supervisor on the progress and status of their work.
  • Specialists shall submit their hours works to their supervisor on a weekly basis.
  • Specialists shall complete work remotely. Specialists shall be required to attend regular virtual meetings with their supervisor and team, as scheduled. Required virtual meetings shall be scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST with 24 hours’ notice or more.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $36.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
