POSITION SUMMARY:
This position contributes to the fulfillment of Thayer County Health Services vision and mission by exercising appropriate judgment based on knowledge and skills, developing, organizing, and directing all aspects of the Foundation.
SHIFT: Full Time, Exempt, Days SUPERVISION: Reports to the CEO
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, marketing, sales, communication, or public administration is required.
  • Three years of experience leading fundraising initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising software or similar programming is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, & Publisher) is required.
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to multi task is required.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge with computers and office organization skills.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops a budget and works with the Foundation Board on annual fundraising goals.
  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits individuals, businesses and organizations for short-term and long-term financial support.
  • Manages the communication and public relations activities for the Foundation and Guild.
  • Oversees the production of the Foundation/Guild marketing and promotional material.
  • Serves as the Foundation/Guild liaison with media.
  • Oversees and manages the Foundation’s fundraising database and correspondence with donors.
  • Manages donor recognition displays, activities and events.
  • Oversees record-keeping systems for identifying potential donors.
  • Develops a working relationship with estate planners regarding giving opportunities.
  • Networks with other foundation directors.
  • Assists Guild with membership database, donor correspondence, promotional material, meetings and annual events.
  • Researches funding opportunities for private and public sources and works with TCHS’s staff to pursue grant opportunities.
  • Responsible for Foundation financial records including donations, pledges, letters, reports and other correspondence.
  • Oversees Foundation’s annual membership drive.
  • Responsible for working with the Foundation and Guild committees to coordinate, organize and implement fundraising and special events.
  • Attends Foundation and Guild meetings to provide support as required.
  • Oversees Foundation and Guild scholarship program.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Marketing.
  • Directs departmental financial operations by validating daily revenue (if applicable), analyzing monthly revenue and expenses and reporting budget variances, and engaging in developing and adhering to the budget.
  • Orients new employees and provides training to department staff in an appropriate and thorough manner.
  • Ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical records, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
  • Participates in TCHS committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
  • Creates an environment of transparency, respect, and open communication within own department and other departments.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as applicable.
  • Reviews and approves time cards as applicable.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
  • Maintains and promotes good health practices.
  • Will conform to TCHS procedures and policies.
  • Will perform all duties as described by the job description.
  • Does not discuss patient matters such as medical treatment, diagnosis or history outside of the clinical setting in; keeping in compliance of HIPAA.
  • Understand and comply with the requirements of Thayer County Health Services’ Compliance Program, including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Manual, all supporting policies for compliance and compliance plans.
  • Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by organizational policy and as requested by supervisor.
  • Consistently support the Compliance Program through personal example; the provision of day-to-day instruction and correction to employees in regard to compliance-related issues; application of appropriate discipline as required for compliance violations; and ongoing monitoring of activities and work product in areas of responsibility with respect to compliance related issues.
  • Identify departmental and/or facility performance improvement opportunities and actively engage staff as appropriate to promote performance improvement initiatives. Establish, modify, and monitor department specific performance improvement opportunities. When appropriate, develop action plans and report to Performance Improvement Committee.
  • Willingly accepts new responsibilities and cooperates with implementation of change. Dresses in a neat, clean uniform for patient care; maintains high personal hygiene standards.
  • Demonstrates respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence through a “We Care” philosophy with all patients, visitors, and TCHS staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Works in an indoor smoke-free, climate-controlled environment. Involves working in potential donor home environment with a variety of external factors.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting for periods of time throughout the day. Occasionally may need to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Some evening and/or weekend work.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and pressure due to multiple simultaneous requests and inquires.
  • Position may require extensive local travel, occasional regional/state travel.
  • Valid NE driver’s license required and must have reliable personal transportation.
