POSITION SUMMARY: This position contributes to the fulfillment of Thayer County Health Services vision and mission by exercising appropriate nursing judgment based on knowledge, skills, and understanding; developing and maintaining patient care functions for the clinic.
SUPERVISION: Reports to Clinic Supervisor.
SHIFT: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Days
Eligible for Difficult-to-Fill Incentives: **Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus **Up to $2,500 Relocation Bonus **Up to $10,000 Student Loan Forgiveness
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current valid state Nursing License.
Maintains current CPR status.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must have computer skills to access medical record systems for Pre-Certification.
RN license required.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs patient telephone triage, assesses needs, and coordinates needs with referring clinics.
Communicates and interprets physician instruction to patients.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Interpret orders, verify questions and communicate orders with patients.
Teach patients and families to meet their health needs.
Must assure all Pre-certification are timely and accurate for all resources of the organization.
Receives routine medication refill request, send the request and refill after approval from the provider is obtained.
Have knowledge of coding for prior authorizations.
Performs other job duties as needed.

Will conform to TCHS procedures and policies.
Will perform all duties as described by the job description within the scope of licensure.
Maintains current professional license in accordance with state law.
Provides leadership in medical concerns in the absence of the physician.
Does not discuss patient matters such as medical treatment, diagnosis, or history outside of the clinical setting in; keeping in compliance with HIPAA.
Understand and comply with the requirements of Thayer County Health Services’ Compliance Program, including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Manual. All supporting policies for compliance and compliance plans.
Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by organizational policy and as requested by supervisor.
Demonstrates AIDET with patients, visitors, and TCHS staff.
Willingly accepts new responsibilities and cooperates with the implementation of change.
Dresses in a neat, clean uniform for patient care; maintains high personal hygiene standards.
