Must maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

As Human Resources Specialist for Tharp, you will assist in daily tasks such as onboarding, off boarding, managing HR data through HRIS system, administration of company policies and benefits. This role provides a wide range of HR support and general administrative support for the Tharp management team and employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Onboarding for all new hires, includes reference checks, background checks, drug screens, and more.
  • Manage Offboarding process.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and other training/testing requirements.
  • Assist HR Manager with the hiring process, including submitting job postings online and scheduling candidate interviews.
  • Review timecards for biweekly payroll.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave, recognition, and morale.
  • Manage performance review process and assign training to all employees.
  • Manage benefits for new employees, Open Enrollment, terminations, and COBRA.
  • Organizing and maintaining personnel records, entering new hire data, and updating any previous employees’ data utilizing HRIS (Paylocity).
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assist with reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, retention rates, and more.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High School Graduate required.
  • Some college required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year human resources experience in an administrative role
  • General understanding of employment law and HR practices
  • Proficient or Advanced skills with using MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point).
  • Ability to work independently and in teaming environment\ under tight deadlines and to maintain flexibility in prioritizing work responsibilities.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet schedules.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Holds a high level of confidentiality.
  • Meets core values.
  • Comply with all safety programs, enforce safety rules and good housekeeping.
  • Can work independently with a high degree of self-motivation.
