Texas Regional Bank is Hiring a Trust Officer (Onsite) Near Allen, TX

Position Summary
The Associate Trust Officer will be an integral member of the TRB Trust team. In this role, the Associate Trust Officer will be responsible for administering trust accounts, primarily for relationships based in the Rio Grande Valley.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee a book of business directly, comprised of accounts where Texas Regional Bank serves as trustee or in another fiduciary capacity as well as Individual Retirement Accounts, custodial, agency type accounts
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on current developments within the fiduciary landscape and be willing to continuously learn and improve
  • Support fellow colleagues’ in responding to client requests, preparing for meetings, and conducting research and analysis on accounts where the Associate Trust Officer may not be the primary trust administrator
  • Reviews legal documentation for prospective and current clients to ensure accuracy and acceptability
  • Adheres to, and ensures colleagues’ compliance with regulations and governing legislation, and to all internal procedures and policies.
  • Cultivates relationships with attorneys, accountants, insurance agents and other professionals to promote Trust division within our community
  • Must have a working knowledge of financial and accounting principles that would allow this person to work collaboratively with TRB Wealth Management advisors and associates and other internal professionals to ensure thoughtful portfolio and asset management
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.

  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Must have excellent analysis, observation and decision-making skills.
  • Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
  • Individual should be able to work under high pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere and then should remain composed.
  • Provide a strong, compassionate and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
  • Four-Year College Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 1 year of experience in financial services, including banking, wealth management or trust
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Demonstrate ability to interact with senior management on a regular basis
  • Comfortable with technology, cloud-based services, workflow management, and digital solutions
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Must be willing to work towards attainment of Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed for meetings with clients, centers of influence, and for continued education and training
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
