Texas Regional Bank is Hiring a Developer Near Harlingen, TX

Position Summary
Developer will be responsible for the Bank’s Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) software and customer data repositories, including prototyping, developing, testing, and supporting these applications which feed data from various sources into the Bank’s data warehouse. Collaborates with other departments and project managers to analyze business requirements and recommend solutions that meet the Bank’s goals, in addition to ensuring data quality, efficiency, and reliability. This is an ideal position for a self-motivated experienced developer looking to flex their current skillset and expand into new areas of expertise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the planning, creation, implementation, and support of a secure, integrated, scalable enterprise-wide data warehouse solution to meet the Bank’s business needs.
  • Develop, implement, optimize, and maintain ETL processes and schedules.
  • Utilize SQL for database development.
  • Utilize NodeJS with TypeScript, as well as C# DotNet for server-side development.
  • Optimize the applications and databases for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Use version-control systems such as Git.
  • Perform data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Automate data workflows and pipelines using scheduling tools and scripting languages.
  • Create and maintain data mappings, documentation, and metadata.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues and errors.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Write and maintain detailed technical specifications for software.
  • Present project status and technical alternatives to management.
  • Integrate knowledge of product vision and functionality into development efforts to ensure business needs are fulfilled with the technical solution.
  • Manage to establish KPIs and targets.
  • Maintain an objective, fact-based perspective and encourage teams to display transparency on status.
  • Teach others about existing concepts, tools, and processes.
  • Build a knowledge base of issues and resolutions for commonly found issues.
  • Seek to reduce friction points and create quality experiences.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve efficiencies in various departments through the use of technology.
  • Think and act like an entrepreneur. Be able to make decisions and assume accountability.
Other Responsibilities
  • Keep up to date with innovations in technology.
  • Understand and enforce IT policies and procedures.
  • Be informed of and up to date on applicable regulations as they relate to projects.
  • Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
  • Provide a strong, compassionate, and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Develop and mentor rising talent in the technology department.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.
  • Manage continuous improvement that exceeds customer expectations while assisting the bank in reaching “best in class” service delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
  • Have excellent analytical, observational, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Business Analysis, Data Science, or another technology-related field.
  • Strong relational data design skills and SQL skills are required.
  • Work under high pressure situations in a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed.
  • Must possess an adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset.
  • Mental concentration is required to perform concurrent tasks and meet deadlines while tolerating frequent interruptions.
  • Must be physically present in the bank to perform these job duties.
