TIFS is looking for a Credentialing/Compliance Specialist to ensure that all of our medical staff members (MDs, PA's, NPs etc.) have the necessary qualifications for their medical position and will also play a vital role in TIFS compliance and ethics program, having leadership over enterprise policy management and key responsibility for third-party risk management. This role will have an opportunity to collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization to ensure appropriate policy and procedure oversight and reviews, coordinate training and awareness efforts, and implement appropriate vendor oversight.
This role will also involve looking into their work and education history, confirming their certifications with the appropriate organizations, and keeping track of expiration dates and renewals. The right candidate must also stay up-to-date on industry regulations and company policies to make sure our employees keep up with any changes.
The ideal Credentialing/Compliance Specialist has an associate degree in a field such as health information management (HIMS) and experience in medical administration.
Credentialing Duties and Responsibilities
Confirm the education and work history of our employees
Audit potential hires to ensure they meet our standards
Keep track of expiration dates and let employees know when they need to renew
Update company standards when regulations change
Keep a database of all employee credentials
Compliance Duties and Responsibilities
Lead policy and procedure management, including managing policy reviews and updates, and an ongoing policy review cycle. Work with policy owners to ensure policies are accurate and updated and assist with policy communications to employees.
Support the development and launch of compliance training, track and report status of annual compliance training, and assist with compliance training communications.
Implement and oversee compliance program for third-party/vendor risk management, including regular reviews and reporting.
Lead special projects and assist with other tasks, raise awareness about compliance and ethics topics, and contribute to the various functions of the compliance department.
Assist with privacy incident handling and reporting requirements to support HIPAA compliance efforts.
Manage, track, and triage reported compliance matters, including assisting with handling of ethics hotline, compliance mailboxes, or other items.
Conduct compliance audits and/or design and maintain compliance monitoring functions based on risk assessments and prioritization.
Qualifications Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Bachelor degree in a medical administration or compliance field (preferred)
Administrative and compliance experience
Familiarity with medical terminology
Strong research and organizational skills
5 years in Compliance in a complex health care setting mandatory, with experience in a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) setting preferred.
