Who we are The Department of Academic and Performance Analytics (ABPA) provides various reports and data for faculty and students. ABPA is responsible for state and national reporting, maintains the Texas A&M Accountability website, and is developing an academic services data warehouse for student data from the Registrar, Admissions and Financial Aid. We’re hiring a Data Analyst - someone who is interested in exploring this career path - and a Lead Data Analyst who has demonstrated proficiency and advanced skills. The outcomes include (but are not limited to): Reporting using SQL Creating and maintaining dashboards using Tableau Surveys Creating Data Storage Structures What we want The Senior Data Analyst will work as part of a team on an ongoing data warehouse project. The individual will work through the entire process, from requirements gathering through the technical aspects of loading the data into the warehouse to creating the final product including reports, dashboards and visualizations. The work will include designing and developing data warehouse star schemas, developing extract, transform and load (ETL) processes and creating reports, dashboards and visualizations for various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also have the following characteristics: extensive analytical skills, excellent communication skills, self-motivated and work independently. What you need to know Hybrid Work Option: Due to the nature of this position, a hybrid work arrangement may be available. Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience. Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of professional, non-clerical experience in data management, analysis experience. Above-average SQL skills. Applicant must be able to construct complex joins across multiple tables. Preferred Education and Experience: Masters Degree. Above-average SQL skills. Responsibilities: Data Warehouse-Requirements gathering, design and implementation of star schemas for data warehouse. Dashboards- Use of Tableau and COGNOS to develop dashboards and visualizations of University decision makers. Data Reporting and Analysis-Create complex ad hoc reports analyses quickly and accurately. Business Intelligence Report- Assist and support end users of the data warehouse and business intelligence systems. Campus Data Systems- Maintain knowledge of campus data systems and relevant campus processes and policies. Current Practices- Stay informed and aware of the latest BI technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and quality of the BI system.
