IndustrialMaintenance Instructor (Evening Program) – Crump Campus
The Tennessee Collegeof Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time positionof Industrial Maintenance Instructor for the evening program to be located atthe main campus in Crump, Tennessee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of certificate or diploma in instructional area or equivalent training with credentials in related field.Associate Degree preferred
Must have three (3) years of approved employment experience in the occupation to be taught beyond the normal learning period (generally four (4) years)
Knowledge in the following areas:electrical theory, industrial electricity, motor control, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, PLCs/Robotics, preventative maintenance, and industrial instrumentation
Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with student
GENERAL DUTIES:
The IndustrialMaintenance Instructor shall be directly responsible to the institutionadministration. The instructor shalldevelop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lessonplans, assignments, and instructional aides, and keep these revised and up todate to meet the requirements of industry. Motivation, conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance of the studentduring the time he/she is on the institution campus are also duties of the industrialmaintenance instructor. The instructorwill also assist with student placement and student follow-up; participate inrecruitment of students; evaluate student progress and maintain studentrecords; participate in professional development activities; cooperate withoutside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits tobusiness and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations withinthe college’s service area. Some travelis required.
SALARY: Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salaryguidelines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Use of computer
Normal standing, sitting, and walking
Work is performed in a classroom and shop setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.
Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and shop setting.
Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
