TENABLE is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Columbia, MD

Your Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented individual to join our finance and accounting organization. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess the ability to creatively solve problems and think on their feet. Your Opportunity:

  • Monthly close process, account reconciliations, account analysis, and preparation of journal entries within functional areas:
    • Bank reconciliations – prepare monthly bank reconciliations and associated journal entries;
    • Prepaid expenses – ensure subledger reconciles to general ledger, prepaid classification is in line with company policy and the expense recognition is appropriate;
    • Fixed assets – ensure assets are capitalized in accordance with company policy and depreciated over the appropriate lives; 
    • Accrued compensation – prepare journal entries and reconciliations for payroll, PTO and bonus;
    • Expense reimbursements – review GL coding, prepare journal entries and reconcile to cash payments;
    • Intercompany – prepare intercompany transfer pricing entries;
  • Ensure documentation of and compliance with proper internal controls and SOX compliance;
  • Participate in integration efforts of newly acquired or newly established companies as needed;
  • Provide supporting documentation for quarterly reviews and annual audits;
  • Provide schedules for international statutory financials and annual audits;
  • Provide supporting schedules to VP of tax as necessary;
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports;
  • Participation in system implementations including testing, documentation and production release;
  • Preparation and completion of other projects and tasks that may be required from time-to-time.

What You'll Need:

  • Candidates must possess a bachelor degree in Accounting from an accredited university/college;
  • Up to 3 years of experience required in accounting department or public accounting;
  • CPA preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel;
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who works well in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple and changing priorities;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Deadline oriented, strong leadership skills and the ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Note: this role is a hybrid position and will require coming into the office several times a month.
