The Senior Strategy Manager, Ventures Investments, is a key member of a team that works closely with each of the three business units at TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods (Agriculture, Animal Agriculture, Consumer Goods) to build beneficial relationships, understand their strategic aspirations and directions, and translate those learnings into actionable roadmaps and investment opportunities. You will provide critical support to develop an investment strategy and drive value-creation opportunities with our portfolio companies. You will play a key role in engaging directly with key stakeholders across our TELUS
Agriculture & Consumer Goods organization - and the entrepreneurs we invest in - to help their teams build and align on strategic priorities and execute against business plans.

Here’s how:

• Develop, track and influence the TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods team’s ongoing investment strategy by supporting the development of key business unit relationships with senior leaders from across the organization
• Provide day-to-day support to a thoughtful and well-researched engagement program lifecycle; identify key stakeholders and provide bi-directional input into their future plans, including definition of capabilities needed to execute against these ambitions
• As part of the above, stay up to date on trends in the food technology industry, with a view to directly influence and / or provide constructive input into the future long-term strategic plans of our business units
• Manage the curation and distillation of strategic reviews from across the Company, help determine key priorities amongst Horizon 2 and 3 initiatives, and define clear investment theses in close collaboration with key TELUS Stakeholders
• Assist in the undertaking of potential investee due diligence
• Work with peers in the M&A team to align on strategy and create a pipeline of Ventures investment companies that will serve as future acquisition opportunities

What you bring to this role

- 5-8 years of experience in strategic management consulting (ideally in fast moving consumer goods or agriculture technology) with top tier firm or
progressive responsibility in corporate development (5 years)
- Proven experience in establishing and managing key stakeholder relationships, becoming their trusted advisor
- Ability to understand technology and / or business objectives, translate those to actionable outcomes, and subsequently provide oversight / management to
achieve objectives
- Excellent presentation skills including exec briefings
Exceptional project management capabilities with ability to coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects and initiatives and work within a fast-paced environment of
rapid change and evolving priorities
- Ability to push for results among peers and stakeholders external to the team, while building consensus and buy in amongst all levels
- University degree in Technology (Computer Science/Engineering) or Business, or similar

The US base salary range for this position is: $120k - $150k USD. This position may be eligible for a 15% performance- based BONUS. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within that range, individual pay is determined by work location and a variety of factors, which may include but not limited, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
