Overview

As a Senior DevOps Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a talented team of DevOps professionals located in different regions worldwide. You will play a critical role in establishing and implementing DevOps best practices, tools, and processes to ensure seamless delivery and reliable operations of our software products and infrastructure. This is a strategic leadership role that requires a deep understanding of software development lifecycles, cloud infrastructure, automation, and a passion for driving innovation.

The successful candidate will provide day-to-day management of DevOps staff and work collaboratively with different departments across the organization. The individual must be detailed-oriented, demonstrate good risk management decision making skills, and bring innovative, reliable solutions to challenges and problems. They should have strong Linux and DevOps technical skills and proven DevOps experience. This role includes delivering operational event postmortems, planning resources, and measuring team KPIs (key performance indicators).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a global team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Develop and implement a DevOps strategy and roadmap that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, standards, and processes to optimize software development, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software products.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native technologies and infrastructure automation to achieve scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance of production environments.
  • Effectively use internal ticketing system to manage workload, align priorities and requirements, and provide regular status updates on assigned projects and tickets.
  • Collaborate with security teams to establish and enforce DevSecOps practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the DevOps capabilities and efficiency of the team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in DevOps and related technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team and promoting a culture of innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience (8 years) in a DevOps leadership role, managing global teams and driving organizational transformation.
  • Strong technical background in software development, cloud infrastructure (AWS,Azure, GCP), and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in implementing CI/CD pipelines and leveraging tools such as Jenkins, or GitLab.
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) concepts and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • In-depth knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack,Datadog) and their implementation in highly available systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in integrating DevOps practices into Agile development processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to speak and write clear English to facilitate clear unambiguous communications.
  • Some International travel may be required.
  • Familiarity with Python, Redis, RabbitMQ, ELK Stack, SIP and/or SMPP protocols.

Nice to have

  • AWS or other cloud certification.
  • Experience in machine learning.
  • Experience being an active participant in external security audits (ISO, SOC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with voice telecom and SMS messaging terminology.
