Job Description :
Essential Duties andResponsibilities
Main responsibilities(Other duties may be assigned per business needs) :
Sets up and operates conventional andnumerical control machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallicparts by applying knowledge of machine shop theory procedures shopmathematics as assigned to produce high quality parts enabling allproduction and scheduling needs to be met.
Follows process sheets for selecting andinstalling tooling offsets fixtures according to specifications toprepare machine for operation use of engineering part drawings andprocess plans performs first piece approval uses precisionmeasuring instruments to ensure machined items meet qualityspecifications reports malfunctions of machining equipment andprocess deviations to appropriate personnel.
Looks forways to improve the manufacturing process (new fixtures toolingcombining operations etc.)
Checks cycle times keeps work area clean and in orderfollows all company safety procedures and guidelines.
Depending on machines may loadwork programs take offsets find zero.
Education / Training
High school diploma or GEDrequired.
Five (5)years machining experience
Qualifications / Experience
Requires general knowledge of machiningtechniques and methods along with setting up and operating machineseffectively and the ability to receive and execute instructions.
Must be able tointerpret engineering part drawings use precision measuringequipment and follow process sheets and demonstrate all safetyprecautions for operating named equipment.
