Position Summary:
The Director of Quality Assurance plays a critical role in ensuring that all products and services meet the established standards of the quality system. This position involves the use of surveillance techniques, reporting of findings, and oversight of a team dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Quality Engineer (QE)/Inspection direct reports, prioritizing and managing their activities and priorities.
  • Support the Defective Material Report/Return Material Authorization (DMR/RMA) process through the creation, release, and follow-up of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Lead and coordinate audits and assessments conducted by external entities or customers, evaluating findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the documentation, revision, and implementation of quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and standards.
  • Collect, compile, and communicate statistical quality data to report on the outcomes of quality assurance activities.
  • Utilize Lean tools to identify areas for improvement within the quality system, developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify and organize training for quality assurance employees and manage the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with significant experience in a quality-driven manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace) required.
  • Proficiency in quality inspection, auditing of quality systems, and testing.
  • Knowledge of QA tools, concepts, and methodologies.
  • Experience with the implementation and management of a corrective action program.
  • Certifications in Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, and Six Sigma are advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a Green Card holder.
