Currently, we are seeking a seasoned Engineering Standards and Validation Manager for our client who is a leader in manufacturing. This role is crucial for optimizing engineering activities and enhancing product compliance with technical standards.

Position Summary: The Engineering Standards and Validation Manager will spearhead efforts to standardize and optimize technical processes and procedures across the engineering department. This managerial role involves leading the ESV Team in enhancing productivity, developing technical guidelines for design and manufacturing, and ensuring compliance with both domestic and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Standardization and Optimization:

  • Collaborate with Applications and Design Engineering managers to identify and leverage optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and implement tools and systems to enhance SMA “Front-end” throughput efficiencies, automate product selection, and streamline product design processes.
  • Lead initiatives to set and maintain high standards in engineering practices across the company.

• Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee the daily tactical operations of the ESV team, assigning resources to support business needs effectively.
  • Manage a cross-functional team to develop strategic cost reduction plans that align with internal profit objectives.
  • Maintain team performance metrics that align with company goals.

• Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all in-production products adhere to technical specifications both domestically and internationally.
  • Support the implementation of best practices for Root Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions for product or process failures.
  • Control and manage the documentation of in-production products, features, options, and accessories.

• Collaboration and Support:

  • Act as the primary engineering liaison with marketing and product management for in-production product strategies.
  • Ensure close cooperation with Quality and Manufacturing departments to resolve order fulfillment challenges and meet shipment commitments.
  • Serve as a key engineering interface with parent company and other group companies on all technical matters.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• At least ten (10) years of experience in product engineering or product development.
• Demonstrated managerial experience and leadership in a technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of motors, brake-motors, motor standards such as UL, MG1, CSA, and motor design and manufacturing.
• Familiarity with other rotating equipment, such as gearboxes, is preferred.
• Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement best practices; Green Belt level preferred.
• Strong project management skills; PMP Certification is highly desirable.
