JOB OVERVIEW

The Accounting Clerk I is responsible for performing routine tasks to support accounting operations. This is an on-site role with 8.30am to 5.30pm shift.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Records all daily customer payments in the accounting system. 
• Communicates and resolves any discrepancies with the customers.
• Processes daily customer invoicing. 
• Processes daily customer credit cards transactions.
• Continuously monitors AR email inbox and replies to the requests and questions from customers and internal Teknova departments.
• Supports customer credit limit management function by pulling customer credit reports, obtaining approvals for credit changes and submitting tickets to Data Management Team.
• Collects, verifies, enters customer sales tax exemption certificates into Avalara.
• Regularly communicates with customers via phone and email on any past due invoices to ensure that past due payments are received in a timely manner.
• Serves as a back up for accounts payables, enters low complexity vendor bills into system. 
• On a weekly rotational schedule, performs work at the front desk reception. Performs receptionist responsibilities as needed, such as answering corporate multi-line phone lines, directing callers to the appropriate resources, welcoming visitors, and receiving deliveries. The receptionist's desk looks tidy and presentable.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested. 

Requirements

 EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Preferred 1 year experience in accounting or administrative function.
•  Basic MS Office skills, good computer skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Demonstrated strong team player. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong sense of responsibility and sense of urgency.
