TEDx is growing. Created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to discover and promote “ideas worth spreading,” the TEDx program licenses and supports TEDx events around the world that are organized independently by community volunteers in over 140 countries.

The Community Engagement Manager, TEDx oversees all TEDx community engagement opportunities and communications, leading our external and internal communications strategy. This role is responsible for creating opportunities for volunteers to gather, online and in-person, and creating the storytelling resources they need to amplify local ideas worth spreading to a global audience.

• Producing large scale in-person events and conferences, and virtual gatherings, for community engagement
• Overseeing and managing multiple TEDx social platforms, including the creation of written and video content
• Managing registration process for staff-led workshops and TEDx attendees at conferences
• Managing and writing communications directed at our global audience
• Managing and maintaining community online resources
• Overseeing comprehensive strategy to maintain the TEDx brand and voice on internal and external platforms
• Overseeing schedule and implementation of regional workshop program
• Creating supporting materials for the TEDx community, which can be used at in-person regional workshops and/or within teams
• Creating standardized presentations for TED staff to use at regional workshops
• Managing community virtual and in-person initiatives and projects
• Overseeing and addressing TEDx Community needs, including accessibility and regional concerns
• Managing maintenance and monitoring of online community platforms
• Interaction with a diverse range of individuals and organizational stakeholders throughout the global TEDx community
• Managing Engagement and Communications functions
• Other duties and special projects as may be assigned from time to time

• 5 years experience in similar functions; experience managing, supporting and growing an online and offline community
• Prior event management/production experience required
• Proven experience creating branding, short video, copy and other assets for various media
• Comfortable communicating within a variety of international cultural contexts
• Strong knowledge of photography and video production and curation
• Ability to effectively manage a team (prior staff management experience required)
• Self-starter
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to maintain project timelines for a team
• Proven experience delivering on tight project deadlines
• Prior knowledge of Salesforce a plus
• Proficient in Mac OS

SALARY: $75,000 - $90,000

• Reports to Head of TEDx and Director of Development, TEDx
