TECHNICAL RESOURCES INT'L is Hiring a Junior Accountant Near Bethesda, MD
- Overall Accounting department support: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, recording transactions, verifying and reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
- Support Payroll via timesheet review, payroll processing and employee queries
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification of transactions and adherence to accounting principles.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations and company policies. Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain appropriate documentation to support financial records and transactions.
- Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors to resolve accounting-related issues and foster a positive work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounting function. Suggest and implement process enhancements as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant coursework or certifications will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Highly proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel. CostPoint experience an a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a positive and collaborative attitude.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
