TechMah Medical, LLC, a division of Lima USA, is looking for a Design Engineer to join our growing team! We are looking for someone with 2-5 years of professional experience to become a part of our journey to develop and design instruments to support the surgical execution of patient-specific surgical plans. General Job Description

The Design Engineer’s primary responsibility is the design, development, and manufacturing transfer of company products. Additionally, this position is responsible for design for manufacturing (DFM), design for additive manufacturing, and design of parts that convey a cohesive brand image.

As a member of our product development team the position requires demonstration of the following accountabilities: communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Design for manufacturing (DFM), design for additive manufacturing, and design of parts that convey a cohesive brand image.
  • Consult with stakeholders on design requirements.
  • Investigate materials
  • Order additive parts
  • Produce sketches for new product concepts.
  • Clarify, solve, and refine design issues.
  • Troubleshoot CAD models
  • Produce 2D drawings for manufacturing
  • Produce 3D models for manufacturing
  • Maintain a design history file
  • Write work instructions
  • Write mechanical design specifications
  • Interpret CAD models of patient anatomy to develop designs that are robust and usable.
  • Produce seed models in CAD to be integrated into planning software.
  • Produce landmarking data sets and resource files for CAD models which are to be integrated into planning software.
  • Interpret output of planner software and determine if planner is producing models as intended. Modify planner output as necessary.
  • Attend cadaver labs for hands on analysis of designs.
  • Obtain and interpret design feedback from surgeons.

  • Advanced Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits attributes in passion, collaboration, partnership, rigor, transparency, communication
  • Ability to go beyond existing knowledge base and to expand understanding, methods, and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Biomedical Engineering, or similar technical field. MS Preferred
  • Significant Professional design experience can replace educational requirements.
  • Satisfactory references from employers, supervisors, and/or professional peers
  • Satisfactory pre-employment screening results, including but not limited to criminal background screenings and drug screening results.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Location:

  • Knoxville, TN Preferred
  • If not Knoxville, Hybrid and willing to commute to Knoxville for at least 1 week per month.
