The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is currently seeking a Product Manager (Orchard) – in the Office of Digital Services and Solutions.

 

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Product Manager for the Office of Digital Services and Solutions within the Georgia Technology Authority is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the official design system for the state of Georgia, Orchard., Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver and manage a world-class solution that meets the needs of our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Serve as a subject matter expert for the Orchard Design System platform, providing guidance and assistance to internal teams and customers as needed.

·Responsible for collaborating with GTA teams that lead product planning, training development, user experience, quality assurance, and financial billing for Orchard and collaborating with the system’s external service providers.

·Lead the design and development practice and work with a collective team of GTA contributors and external service providers.

·Manage the strategic roadmap for Orchard and providing feedback on product roadmaps with any new information DSGa comes across as we build and collect more data.

·Manage a design system product supporting GovHub and transactional application websites using tools like Storybook or Patternlab.

·Work with the outreach team to grow the adoption of the design system.

·Preparing the backlog for sprint planning.

·Preparing for the retrospective, organizing, and completing the action items.

·Coordinating research to understand the users’ needs and ensure DSGa products are aligned.

·Understand and lead development for the product strategy and roadmap

·Align and prioritize product features with overall strategy and business goals

·Manage the work backlog and map out any dependencies

·Oversee agile process by driving task grooming and sprint planning activities

·Conduct market research and identify industry trends

·Define and track success metrics

·Report product development progress to the DSGa team and key stakeholders

·Performs other duties as assigned

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications: 

Six (6) years of direct related design system management practices, full product life cycle management experience with at least two (2) years of design systems experience AND knowledge of multiple technical environments and general skills (to include but not limited to; market software products/platforms, financial management, business analysis, and communications).

Preferred Qualifications: 

(Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, Computer Science, or a related field AND two (2) years of experience related to information technology – design system management, product management, full product life cycle, and technology solutions.
  • Advanced experience in designing and developing design systemsspecifically with Storybook or Patternlab.
  • Advanced experience with Agile (Scrum) project methodologies.
  • Advanced experience with Atlassian stack or similar development management tools.
  • Advanced experience and technical expertise in digital accessibility laws.
  • Advanced experience in content management systems.

 

COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Hiring Salary Range: *$58,100.00 - $74,200.00

Worker Type: Hybrid – State of Georgia Remote Work Option

*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
