Job Description

Summary: The Family Planning Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Title X Illinois Family Planning Program. They develop, implement, and maintain a high-quality family planning program; ensure program goals and objectives are met, and monitor program utilization, data collection, reporting, family planning visit, billing, and reimbursement. They will communicate and collaborate with Tapestry 360 Health (Tap 360) clinical and administrative staff, and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) oversight staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily oversight of the Title X Illinois Family Planning Program activities to ensure adherence to program model in accordance with funding guidelines, including reviewing and revising program policies and protocols to ensure compliance with program guidelines; coordinating, completing and timely submitting required reports; attending related meetings, workshops and conferences; and preparing and presenting the program overview to program staff.
  • Maintain effective relationships with funders and colleagues at other area Title X Illinois Family Planning Program funded sites.
  • Develop and complete applicable portions of grant funding applications in conjunction with the grant writing team.
  • Help onboard and orient new staff to the program guidelines.
  • Maintain Title X Illinois Family Planning Program medications inventory.
  • Collaborate with Tap360 outreach and marketing teams in adherence with the IDPH Workplan Progress Report.
  • Ensure that Tap360 staff adheres to billing guidelines; provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate and attend IDPH site visits.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in a social services- or health-related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a reproductive health or Title X setting.
  • Experience working in a community or school-based health setting.
  • Project coordination of State- or Federal-funded grant programs.
  • Data collections and report writing experience.

Language Skills:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate using plain language.

Competencies:

  • Familiarity with and/or ability to learn how to use Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to use computers, laptops, and mobile phone apps.
  • Ability to initiate and lead conversations with people from different backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work as part of team.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice cultural humility.
  • Passion for helping others.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Lived experience navigating barriers to care within the healthcare system.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full time, 40 hours per week. Work schedule is generally Monday thru Friday 8:30 am-5 pm, must be able to work some evenings and weekends as required to facilitate access to services.

Travel: Approximately 15% of local travel between Tap 360 sites and to/from other locations to promote the family planning program and services. Additionally, required travel to annual Title X Illinois Family Planning Program Conference.
