CornerStone has partnered with a local company in their search for a Traffic Operations & Incident Management Assistant Director. The position reports to the Director of the division and will manage the role when the Director is out. The division has over 141 FTE’s and 84 law enforcement agents. As the Assistant Director you lead 4 direct reports and 15 indirect and all law enforcement agents. This division seeks someone with extensive Transportation Systems Management Operations (TSMO) and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) experience for a state or large transit system. Consultants with TSMO background may transition well into this role. They will go out in the field to assess multicar or severe crash sites to identify why the accident occurred and changes in the roadway that could deter future incidents. The desired candidate will be address safety concerns of major roadways, tollways, ramps, and streets suggesting modifications in signage, road striping and other areas. They will have direct oversight over annual budgets, forecasting of a 5year plan to account for resources needed for projects, manpower required and current staffing levels, equipment levels and training of staff.
Requirements for Traffic Operations & Incident Management Assistant Director:
• Master Degree desired, extensive work history will suffice
• Professional Engineering License registered with the State of Texas required
• 9 years of experience managing Traffic Operation & Incident Management
• TSMO and ITS experience
• Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS); fingerprinting and background check req.
• Hybrid work schedule; 3 days in office, 2 WFH
• Flexible work hours; 7-4,8-5, etc.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
