Corporate Flood Program – Insurance Industry Operations Executive 

Organization Description 

Commercial Banking (CB) serves more than 30,000 clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions, and not-for-profit entities with annual revenues generally ranging from $20 million to $2 billion. The Firm’s broad platform positions the CB to deliver extensive product capabilities – lending, treasury services, investment banking, and asset management – to meet clients’ domestic and international financial needs 

The Corporate Flood Program (CFP) provides oversight and governance firmwide for all Flood Insurance-related activities. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with wholesale and consumer businesses on both new business and insurance renewalsacross the firm to ensure adherence to the requirements of the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA). This is a highly visible role that requires strong partnership with sales, risk and operations to effectively coordinate loans with Flood Insurance impacts through the evaluation process as well as pro-actively looking for solutions to improve and strengthen the end-to-end insurance underwriting and operational support process. 

Job Responsilbilities

This role will also engage with the firm’s Government Relations organization and industry associations to explore FDPA enhancements and/or reforms.

  • Provide Flood Insurance subject matter expertise to both the wholesale and consumer businesses at JPMorgan Chase
  • Serve as point of escalation for complex transactions involving Flood Insurance, including client engagement and interaction with external lending and insurance organizations as needed for both new business and loan renewals
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of JPMC wholesale Flood procedures which support the JPMC firm-wide Flood Insurance policy
  • Partner with sales, risk and operations to identify trends that may impact the successful execution of JPMC wholesale flood procedures and service levels, and helping to develop resources to assist in these situations
  • Ongoing education and knowledge share regarding Flood Insurance regulations and industry updates to cross-functional teams including sales, operational support, risk, and underwriting
  • Stay current with new / changing Flood Insurance regulations. Engage with Government Relations and industry associations on regulatory reform.
  • Drive work independently, manage projects, and creatively and pragmatically solve problems
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners in sales, compliance, legal, risk, controls, operations and technology, and senior stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and hands-on support of various firmwide processes to ensure compliance with the FDPA and JPMC policy

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 15 years’ experience in commercial property & casualty insurance specializing in Flood Insurance
  • Proven insurance experience with a strong focus on Flood Insurance and the compliance requirements of the FDPA 
  • Ability to execute as part of lending deal team representing the JPMC Flood Insurance requirements
  • Insurance Credentials (CPCU, ARM, Licensed Broker) preferred
  • Solid understanding of insurance products, operations practices, and regulatory environment 
  • Ability to think and act strategically

  • Team player with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Leverage technology and process improvements to mitigate reliance on manual processes
