Reports to: Principal, Curriculum Director
Education, Certification, and Experience:
Minimum- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, master's degree preferred
Georgia Certification in the content area
At least 5 years of successful classroom teaching. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and teacher training
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates the Instructional program for the school in the content area
Develops and coordinates professional development activities focused on improvement of content knowledge and pedagogy
Analyzes student achievement data and uses the analyses for revisions to the content curricula, targeted teacher remediation and development and other planning
Screens content area teaching applicants in conjunction with the Curriculum Director
Shares content area achievement data and works with content area staff to improve instruction Meets with teachers to share feedback and plan for content area improvement and enhancement Supervises teachers in the content area
Works collaboratively with DOE, RESA, and system staff to improve instruction
Visits classrooms regularly to provide support and assistance to classroom teachers and site administrators
Models teaching of students in classrooms to share effective instructional strategies with teachers Works with the system curriculum director in the selection, adoption, procurement and distribution of content-area instructional materials, learning resources, and equipment
Attends content area meetings which will enhance instructional effectiveness
Stays abreast of curricular reform, innovations, and research
Provides leadership by using benchmark and framework assessments in the core areas to design and implement strategies for elementary and middle/high school
Works with teams and administrators; utilizes instructional resources to provide training and development to implement and improve instruction
Monitors instruction programs to ensure proper engagement. Analyze data during instructional intervals and completes pre and post assessments
Attends and participates in professional organizations and informs administrators and teachers of effective programs
Collaborates with the Title I program to plan for school improvement
Channel all official business through the Principal of the school to the Superintendent and other school officials
Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics.

Performance ofthisjob will be evaluated consistent with Calhoun County School System evaluation policy.
